About This Training

BIM Expertise Training is a project-based, hands-on BIM programme. The goal is to understand BIM not only as a modelling tool but as a process of interdisciplinary coordination and data-driven project delivery.

The programme has three complementary sections: BIM standards and processes, modelling and production in Revit, and coordination and data management in Navisworks. The training follows a real project scenario, and each section builds on the previous one.

What You Will Learn

When you complete the training, you will be able to:

  • understand information management processes and roles under ISO 19650.
  • set up an organised way of working with a BEP, naming conventions and a common data environment (CDE).
  • build structural and architectural models in Revit and work with families and parameters.
  • produce sheets, quantity take-offs and IFC, DWG, PDF and NWC outputs.
  • run clash detection in Navisworks and track and report issues.
  • link the model to time and cost with 4D and 5D.

Exams

At the end of the training you show what you have learned in two steps:

  • Theory exam: multiple-choice questions, 40 minutes, pass mark 70.
  • Practical exam: tasks in Revit, 60 minutes, pass mark 70. Opens after you pass the theory exam.
  • These exams assess the training and do not award a certificate. You see your results on My Exam Results, and your trainer sees them in their panel.
